For those of you who live in and around Redlands, here is a lovely outing you might try one day: Lafourcade Community Garden at the University of Redlands. It is a registered Backyard Wildlife Habitat with the National Wildlife Federation. Last Thursday the girls and I went while C1 was in school. We had the priveledge of being escorted by our favorite University of Redlands Profesora.

Photo 1: Here is Profesora Laura and her adorable dog, Norm, romping through the garden. They are becoming a well known sight at the U of R.

Photo 2: These lovely lily pads were just waiting there for me to snap their picture. Many koi also make their home in this pond.

Photo 3: Here is a view of the little stream that leads to the koi pond.

Photo 4: This I could not resist. Baby meets bulldog...which happens to be the University of Redlands mascot!

Photo 5: There are benches, and tables that line the walkways and pond. It is the perfect spot for a quiet picnic, or to read a book.

I'm so glad oases like this are being preserved. Every generation deserves to have access to nature at its best. This certainly qualifies. May you and Laura have many more similar visits, and may you always have your camera handy.

The garden look really awesome but your baby and the bulldog is the best! That's a very nice photo. So cute!!! How old is the little one now?
